Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 2026

Legal document provided in English for accuracy.

This policy explains how JollofTV uses cookies and similar technologies (like localStorage) to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and provide a better experience. You can control cookie settings through the banner when you first visit, or via your browser settings.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit — like your login state and preferences — so you don't have to re-enter them every time you return.

2. How JollofTV Uses Cookies

We use cookies and similar browser storage (localStorage) for the following purposes:

Strictly Necessary

Always active

sb-*-auth-token

Authentication session cookie. Keeps you signed in across page loads. Expires when you sign out or after 7 days of inactivity.

sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier

PKCE code verifier used during OAuth login (Google). Deleted after sign-in completes.

x-user-country

Website cookie. Your country as a two-letter code (for example ES), taken from your connection. Decides which channels are available to you and the language pages start in. Refreshed daily.

Functional

Necessary only

jolloftv_language_preference

localStorage. Remembers the interface language you chose (English, Español, Français, Português, Deutsch, Italiano, Kiswahili).

x-user-language

Website cookie. The interface language this browser last showed, so the next page opens in it straight away instead of switching after it loads. Kept for one year.

jolloftv_currency

localStorage. Remembers your preferred currency setting.

jolloftv_active_profile

localStorage. Remembers which sub-profile you last used.

jolloftv_watchlist

localStorage. Stores My List information on this device. When you are signed in, eligible My List data may also be synced with your account so it is available across your devices.

jolloftv_cookie_consent

localStorage. Records which optional purposes you allowed or refused.

Optional Analytics

Only if you allow it

Product analytics

Events and app/browser details, used to understand which channels and shows people watch so we know what to add next.

Optional Diagnostics

Only if you allow it

Crash reporting

Crash reports, performance diagnostics, and masked web session replay. Text inputs are masked and media is blocked.

Third-Party

When using features

YouTube / google.com

When watching embedded YouTube trailers or live streams, YouTube may set its own cookies per Google’s Privacy Policy. We embed using youtube-nocookie.com to minimise tracking.

3. Your Choices

When you first visit JollofTV, the banner at the bottom of the screen lets you accept everything, refuse everything, or choose Preferences to allow Analytics and Diagnostics separately.

You can change that choice at any time on this Cookie Policy page, without an account.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

View and delete existing cookies
Block cookies from specific sites
Block all third-party cookies
Clear all cookies when you close the browser

Note: disabling strictly necessary cookies (like the authentication session) will prevent you from staying signed in.

Optional analytics

Off

Crash reports

Off

4. localStorage vs Cookies

On the website, preferences such as language, currency, profile selection and My List may be stored in localStorage. The website reads these values to provide those features. Unlike cookies, localStorage values are not automatically sent with web requests. When you are signed in, eligible My List data may also be synced with your account across devices. You can clear localStorage through your browser settings or by clearing site data. The x-user-language website cookie stores the last language shown so the server can return the next page in that language. Apps may use platform-specific storage.

5. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
